Okay, so it happened. Murphy\u2019s law at its finest.<\/p>\n

The other day, I ran into the Chevron station to purchase gas and I noticed Monster Energy Drinks on sale: 2 for $4.<\/p>\n

\"A<\/a><\/p>\n

Now, I don\u2019t like admitting to everyone that I drink these crazy drinks, but I swear it\u2019s only a once-a-month thing. Do they really give me energy? Maybe not, but I like to think they do. At 50 years old, the thought of a caffeine buzz is one of the more exciting things I look forward to.<\/p>\n

Besides, it\u2019s the sugar-free Monster (you know, my justification).<\/p>\n

We all have our vices!<\/p>\n

I paid for my gas and my two Monsters, headed out to my Sequoia, and began filling it up. As I waited, I popped open a Monster, took a long swig and then, as I tilted the can back down, a drop mysteriously plopped out of it, into my left eye.<\/p>\n

How\u2026I have no clue, but it happened.<\/p>\n

The moment that one little drop hit, it felt like someone had poured acid onto my eyeball. Five minutes later, my eye was still<\/em> burning and that\u2019s when it hit me: \u201dIf one drop of this burns my eye<\/em>, what the heck is it doing to the inside<\/em> of my body?”<\/p>\n

I proceeded to throw both Monsters away (completely full, mind you) and swore I would never drink another energy drink again.<\/p>\n

Just food for thought folks: if something harms the outside of your body, it\u2019s likely harming the inside of your body.<\/p>\n
