For the past 45 years, fat consumption has declined as everyone was told to eat lower fat foods. In place of the fat, between 1977 and 2000, Americans doubled their sugar intake. All the while, calorie consumption has stayed the same.

During this exact same time period, obesity has skyrocketed from 6% to a whopping 65%. The statistics get scarier when we talk about the incidence of Type 2 diabetes in children. In 1980, there were ZERO reported cases of children with Type 2 diabetes. In contrast, there were 57,638 cases of Type 2 diabetes in children in 2010. Personal Trainer Food is committed to stopping this trend in which the grim outcome of eating sugar is caring for people with diabetes for 70-80 years. The potential cost of sugar consumption to our country in psychological, medical and financial terms is simply staggering.
